Description

Ticks Digsby was always significantly shunned by his peers around him, due to the fact he was different. Not with regards to an emotional or personal aspect, but simply due to his appearance. His kind weren't really seen visually around where he lived with his parents growing up, and as such, children and even adults had a very negative perspective towards his kind. When he was very young, his mother disappeared mysteriously one night. There were no reasons for her to have disappeared, no trace and even the police didn't seem to notice or care, and his father grew paranoid and moved them away swiftly. Prior to his adolescence, his father began to crack, showing signs of a slight instability that Ticks could clearly notice despite his young age and it was at this point that his father began to speak of his mother as if she had never disappeared and got heavily mixed into alcoholism. Every time he began to show signs of recovery, he would darkly slip away into a fiery rage, fulled by his alcoholism and attack his son. On a dark and shadowy evening, Ticks arrived home, having been kept behind in school significantly late for detention, he found his father, dead. It was clear that he had taken his own life, hanged and gently turning whilst his neck was clung to a heavy chandelier above Ticks' head. He knew his father was gone, but he started to talk to him, talking to his father's body as it hung there. Three days passed and the police eventually arrived, apparently someone reporting a viscous smell coming from the room. Ticks was violently taken to an orphanage and left there. It was during this point in his life that he began to show signs of bipolar disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder. Whilst still attending school, Ticks picked up on a hobby after school time. Finding what pieces he could from scraps in streets and houses, he showed a natural and incredible skill in watchmaking and understanding of clockwork mechanisms. Always proud of his inventions, the other children would never marvel at his work as he intended, and would instead deliberately smash or break his creations when his back was turned. As he finally passed his teenage years, he got into a black market system, building small but powerful clockwork bombs in return for money and a rare drug with LSD-type effects on the user called "Marbles" due to their small transparent shapes. The drug was chewed and ingested and in very little time, he became reliant and heavily addicted to the substance. With his sanity sinking, but his genius intellect building, he was finally scouted by the famous inventor, Franken Von Hoof for The Academy of Modern Sciences, in which he trained in modern clockworks and scientific methods for its use, excelling ridiculously in his field. Although still shunned by the scientific community, and heavily addicted to Marbles, Ticks now speaks in mind-boggling riddles that somehow sound philosophical despite having no real sense being made, his incoherent babbling and rapid speaking can only be truly understood by his mentor and adopted father figure, Franken Von Hoof.

Although secret, Franken Von Hoof believes that Ticks could outdo both of his children as the next ones to take his title.
